Rory Dennis Photographer
Rory Dennis grew up in Ireland, where he studied Science and Commerce (separately) in UCD Dublin from 1990 to 1995. Whilst at college, he learned to print in Black and white (self-trained) and developed specialist techniques for printing images that won awards at shows in Dublin, resulting in the Dublin Photographic Society awarding him with the O’Shaughnessy Cup – The highest Award.
Rory’s career as a Creative Photographer began in Ireland in 1995 with two solo shows of his work in Art galleries in the south of Ireland. Often his images would consist of staged scenes, landscapes, and life studies, where he would use models, many were often his friends. His Early Influences include the legendary Bailey, Avedon and Ritz and also artists such as Salvador Dali and Max Ernst.
In 1998, after living in New York for a few Months, Rory settled in London to train as a fashion photographer where his journey began with a two year stint at Fashion magazine DAZED. Whilst assisting, and working at the Magazine, Rory learned the skilful art of digital retouching to a standard where his skills were in demand on Top International Campaigns.
In 2003, Rory began shooting Beauty and Fashion stories for Zink (New York), Fashionline, Bolz, Cent, and Tramp among others.
Recent Assignments have led Rory to Moscow, Monaco, and Cannes, and Recent Clients include L’Oreal Paris, and American Express….“I remain a regular Fashion Contributor to Luxury Lifestyle magazine LUSSO, and currently operate out of a Studio in Shoreditch, London”.
